DAVE T-SHIRT INSPIRES TV STATION

We sat aghast this morning, when we became aware that UKTV G2 is going to change it's name to "Dave", and in a rather telling remark about where they got the idea from ... UKTV says the new name is based on the idea that "everyone knows a bloke called Dave". We didn't even get a credit. Tut tut...

You can read more about the cheeky scamps here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7005061.stm

BRAINS HAS MOVED

There wasn't enough space on Balconyshirts.co.uk for us anymore so we've moved over here where we've got some room to stretch our legs a little.

Apologies for the few and far between updates but as you will have seen we've been working like mentals getting new stuff on the site.

OUR FAVOURITE MYSPACE PROFILE

Back in the olden days, you had to cross the palm of a wizened old man in a dimly lit back-alley to see spectacles like this. Now we have Myspace.

They're called Midget & Giant, and whilst we're not too crazy about their music, their photos page rocks.

Click to see a small man and ... a tall woman! Yeahy!

CURRENT LISTENING: JEFFREY LEWIS

We couldn't love Jeffrey Lewis much more if he were our own father. If you haven't got it already you should purchase "It's The Ones Who've Cracked That The Light Shines Through". We'd like to get his stuff in our record shop and will endevour to do so.

We've taken the liberty of listing some other stuff that is currently tickling our undercarriages:

Richard Hawley - Coles Corner Elliott Smith - Figure 8 The Auteurs - After Murder Park
The Piltones - The Piltones
The Cribs - The Cribs

BALCONY'S CAT LINKS

This is a picture of Scout. She's our mischievous tabby. That's two thirds of a loaf of Hovis on her. It didn't hurt her or anything. If you like to put stuff on your cat, we think you should have a quick look at stuffonmycat.com

She doesn't look much like Hitler, but if she did, we'd ship her straight off to
catsthatlooklikehitler.com. And that's a fact.

MAGICAL MONKEY NUTS

This motley crew are The Magical Monkey Nuts, the finest pub quiz team in Manchester, and by Christ we at Balcony are proud to be the official "Magical Monkey Nuts" T-shirt manufacturers. You can find out more about the Monkey Nuts by travelling to The Cock Hotel in Worsley. Or you could just click this link.

THE AUTOMATIC WEAR BALCONY

The, errr, tamborine player from indie chart toppers The Automatic was spotted here at Fop in Manchester, sporting our retro Lemonheads T-Shirt. And that gives us joy.

Lead singer "Pennie" also wore our Smile If You're Gay T-shirt on Never Mind The Buzzcocks last week, but we have no video evidence!
